Hi, Friend!
Hi Friend!
I’m Moyosore Somide
Hi, I’m Moyosore Somide, but most people call me Mo. I help Christian girls break free from performance-based Christianity and live a life that genuinely pleases God.
A few things about me . . .
The meaning of my name in my native language is “I rejoice in God’s gift.” I believe joy is meant to be shared, and I’m here to bring joy into your life as we journey together. I wear many hats and have many passions that keep me busy! Currently, I serve as the Director of the Community Legal Clinic at Western University’s Faculty of Law, where I work with nonprofits across London and Middlesex County to expand public legal education.
I also lead a small group of Christian girls, sharing meals, prayers, Bible study, and heartfelt conversations about their real struggles and how to overcome them in Christ. I love traveling, taking long walks, and exploring new places, and I’m also passionate about writing, attending writers’ and educational conferences to sharpen my craft. You might catch me hosting my podcast or appearing as a guest on other shows, sharing insights and experiences. I also support internationally trained lawyers (ITLs) by providing resources to help them become licensed to practice law in Canada.
My mission is to help Christian girls break free from performance-based Christianity, tear down limiting beliefs that keep them bound through the truth of God’s Word, and grow into active intercessors, by cultivating a consistent prayer life within a community of christian women.
Wife & Mom
Our story began in church. I was the usher who welcomed him in, not knowing I would be ushering him into my life—cheesy, I know! We live together in London, Ontario, with our beautiful daughter.
Passion for Christian Girls
Born and raised in Nigeria into a family of preachers, I understand the pressures many young Christian girls face. My struggles with performance-based Christianity make me qualified to address this issue.
As a former chronic people-pleaser, I recognize my habit stemmed from growing up as a “church girl,” constantly hearing “what people would say.” I faced immense pressure to dress, serve, and look a certain way, leading me to live a double life that strained my relationship with God. Trapped in this performance cycle, I tried to save myself through good works but found true freedom only when I understood that my righteousness is like filthy rags and that Jesus has already paid the price for my sins.
I host monthly gatherings for Christian girls in the London area. These meetings provide a safe space to sit, eat, pray, and discuss real issues facing Christian girls today without judgment.
Speaker & Writer
I have a deep passion for writing and speaking. I will happily write and speak for the rest of my life, even if I never get paid for them. I loved writing fictional stories as a child, but unfortunately, I lost them during a house move. That setback didn’t stop my love for writing. Although my childhood stories were never published, you can find me sharing my thoughts on my blog as I work toward publishing my first book. I frequently speak at Christian youth conferences, events, and educational conferences for Internationally Trained Lawyers.
Podcaster
I also host a podcast for Christian girls who want to break free from performance-based Christianity and live a life that genuinely pleases God. You can also find me sharing my experiences and insights on my podcast or as a guest on other shows.
Lawyer
Called to both the Nigerian and Ontario Bars, I serve as the Director of Community Legal Clinic at Western University’s Faculty of Law, where I work with nonprofits across London and Middlesex County to expand public legal education.
Before this role, I articled with the City of London and continued there as a Solicitor, managing tort claims, advising City Council and multiple departments, and acting as a Municipal Prosecutor. I later served as Legal Counsel at one of the top Insurance Companies in the Province, where I led a team of administrative staff and independently managed complex insurance litigation from start to finish, including mediations, discoveries, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
My journey into law hasn’t always been straightforward. Requalifying as a lawyer in Canada came with its own challenges—from navigating licensing rules to establishing a career in a new country. Those experiences opened my eyes to the unique struggles internationally trained lawyers face and inspired me to create resources to help others navigate the same path.
