My Story
I was called to the Nigerian Bar at 21, and two years later, at 23, I was called to the Ontario Bar. The path to becoming a lawyer in Ontario wasn’t easy—it was filled with challenges that opened my eyes to the unique struggles that internationally trained lawyers (ITLs) face when trying to practice in a new country. I shared my success story in a LinkedIn post that unexpectedly went viral. Suddenly, my inbox was flooded with messages from other ITLs seeking advice. I launched a YouTube channel dedicated to helping ITLs navigate the licensing process in Canada. Through this platform, I share the resources and insights I wish I’d had, supporting fellow lawyers as they become licensed in a new country.
